Why do Front Porch event tickets cost $5.00? For each event, our team selects a local initiative that is vital to the story of our community. In an effort to breath life into our story, we support those initiatives with dollars, encouragement and awareness. Thank you for your contribution.
Does it cost to be a story teller? No
Who organizes the Front Porch? Connect BG is made up of over 135 organizations. While many of them support the story telling effort, there are several who have committed to the Front Porch project. They are: Burgerville, Mill Creek Pub, Battle Ground Foursquare Church, Columbia Kids Preschool, Battle Ground Buzz, Old Town Battle Ground Assoc. and Landmark Church.
How often do Front Porch events occur? Quarterly (ish) - every three or four months.
Are there restrictions on story telling subject matter? Yes, each event is themed to start with. In addition, we will not promote stories that ridicule, oppress, shame or degrade other people. Unneeded obscene language, excessive or graphic sexual references or any other content deemed inappropriate by the Front Porch Leadership Team.
How can I participate? We are always looking for story tellers. We also need volunteers to help us prepare for and manage events. Please contact us if you are interested.
